Stan and Nate

First thing first: Stan and I jumped on my bicycle and rode around town. We took a picture at one of the signs on the town limit.

Then we went over to the Croakies factory where I work. The only other factory is in in Wyoming. We make eye wear accessories. This first machine cuts cord and molds plastic onto it. It's where I spend most of my time.

I work the night shift and sometimes there aren't a lot of people around.

We still found a couple of workers and got a picture

But being the renowned traveler that he was, Stan graciously came with me up to Helena. Helena is the state capital of Montana and I hadn't been to the capital building before so we made the trip.

The statue is of Thomas Francis Meagher. He fought in the American Civil War before becoming governor of Montana.

Right next to the capital building is an art museum and many more statues in the district so we snagged some more pictures.

Written on the plaque "Herd Bull is the work of Sioux artist Benji Daniels and Billings sculptor James Hadcock. The two and a half ton bison skull was welded of recycled sheet metal and measures 24 feet wide by seven feet high. Completed in 1990 Herd Bull serves as an important symbol of the life-ways of Montana's first inhabitants, the spirit of the west for those who followed, and the impact of nature on all who have called Montana home.

When we got home and were walking on the edge of town, Stan spotted our famous "M" that you can see just to the right of his head in the picture above. Naturally we ventured to see it closer.

Finally we got to see the "M" really close up. It's a gathering of white rocks held in place by wooden boards.

Of course a full day of adventuring can make a person hungry and as I recalled Flat Stan likes pie. It so happens, I have an amazing pecan pie recipe so we went home and he helped me cook.

Yum.
